At this time, Southwest Medical is offering the Moderna vaccine.

Before arriving at your appointment, please read the fact sheet to learn more about the vaccine you’ll be receiving.

The Moderna vaccine is given in two doses. This vaccine is given in two doses, scheduled 28 days apart. For optimal immunity, it’s important that you commit to receiving both doses. Your second dose will be scheduled at the clinic after you complete your first appointment.

  • At this time, Southwest Medical is providing patients with the Moderna vaccine. 

    The Moderna vaccine is given in two doses, scheduled 28 days apart. For optimal immunity, it’s important that you commit to receiving both doses. Otherwise, your body will not build the immunity to effectively protect you from COVID-19. Your second dose will automatically be scheduled 28 days after your first dose.

  • Southwest Medical is pausing the distribution of the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine, however you’ll keep your vaccination appointment. We are providing all COVID vaccine clinic locations with the Moderna vaccine.

    The Moderna vaccine is given in two doses, scheduled 28 days apart. For optimal immunity, it’s important that you commit to receiving both doses. Otherwise, your body will not build the immunity to effectively protect you from COVID-19. Your second dose will be scheduled 28 days after your first dose at your first appointment.

  • Based on information from the CDC, these adverse events appear to be extremely rare. As of April 12, more than 6.8 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine have been administered in the U.S. The CDC and FDA are reviewing data involving 6 reported U.S. cases of a rare and severe type of blood clot in individuals after receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. All six cases occurred among women between the ages of 18 and 48, and symptoms occurred 6 to 13 days after vaccination.

    It should also be noted that this potential safety concern does not impact the effectiveness of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. If you have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, no additional COVID-19 vaccinations are needed at this time.

    If you received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and have new, on-set a severe headache, abdominal pain, leg pain or shortness of breath within 3 weeks after vaccination, or have other side effects that are bothering you or do not go away, do one of the following:
