Senior Resources Available during the COVID-19 Quarantine

At Southwest Medical, our goal is to help you stay healthy, active and feeling good. We understand that the current COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly evolving, and we pulled together community resources available to Las Vegas valley senior residents. We will update the resources and tools that we come across and continue to show our support during this time of need.

  • Organizations aiding in food programs.

    Nevada CAN is focused on healing the homebound elders in Nevada connect with the services they need. Please visit the Nevada CAN Food Assistance Services page for resources on food pantries, food stamps, home delivered meals, community meals, and more.

    Meals on Wheels and Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada are serving meals to homebound seniors in Las Vegas. Meals on Wheels will be delivering meals to the doorsteps of seniors.  If you would like to receive meals through the Meals on Wheels Program, please complete the application form here or call 702-385-2662 for more information.

    Shopping Angels provides free shopping services to those over the age of 60 or those with impaired immune systems. Please visit the Shopping Angels Facebook page for more information or to sign up.

    Lutheran Social Services of Nevada offers programs and services to people living in Southern Nevada regardless of religious affiliation. The Heart of the City Senior Meal Program provides hot, nutritious meals at the Reformation Lutheran Church located at 580 East. St. Louis Ave Las Vegas, Nevada 89104 every weekday from 2:00 - 3:15 p.m. Meals are free for seniors over 60 and are served in to-go boxes. Please e-mail Senior Meal Assistant Carl Swan for more information or to sign up.

    The Just One Project pantry is open weekly on Monday's and Friday's by appointment only, to serve seniors 60+ in need of food at no cost. Please call 702-462-2253 to make an appointment or you can request an appointment online.

    Three Square has food assistance programs for those 60 years of age and older. Please call 702 765-4030 Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., to speak with a caring Advocate to determine which program, service or resource is the best option.

    RTC is partnering with Three Square for food delivered to senior in the Las Vegas valley. The food bank’s Senior Hunger Programs provides healthy food, including fresh produce. For more information, contact Three Square at 702-765-4030 or visit their Senior Hunger page.

    Along with food deliveries, the RTC is expanding service hours on all 12 of its Silver STAR routes which will provide senior citizens access to grocery stores, banks and more.   • Renew Active by UnitedHealthcare is available for all OptumCare Network of Nevada members that have a United Healthcare Medicare Advantage plan. Members can utilize the site to access brain health assessments, articles, recipes, and several short exercise videos. The videos include stretching, to strength exercises, and various yoga demonstrations. For members that have a Fitbit, there is a digital community where you can engage in health and wellness discussions and participate in step challenges with other Renew Active members. Please visit the Renew Active page to stay updated on gym closures and the digital classes and workouts being offered online.

  • Xfinity is offering free WiFi hotspots located in business areas, retail locations, and transit areas. To find the nearest hotspot please visit the Xfinity WiFi page.

    Comcast is offering new customers who are deemed eligible free services for the first two months. Please visit the Comcast page to apply.

    Spectrum is offering free broadband and Wi-Fi access to households with K-12 and/or college students who don’t already have a subscription. To enroll please call 1-844-488-8395.
